We now come to the painting and weathering stages
The parts are attached to a piece of cardboard with double-sided tape in preparation for the application of the primer. The primer used was Mr Surfacer 1200 which was misted onto the parts and layers were built up until a good covering was achieved.
I then sprayed the parts with Lifecolor Sand UA090 which is a shade lighter than the finished colour, this will darken during the weathering process.
The kit comes with a plan of the camouflage pattern and also a sheet with pre cut out pieces but care must be exercised when separating them from the sheet. I marked each with the corresponding number on the layout for ease of identification.
You can now mask off the lower portion of the model under the hull overhang with kip masking tape which is similar to the Tamiya product.
Being as the biggest proportion of colour was the green I again used a lighter shade as with the sand, this time it was Light Green RLM83 also from Lifecolor UA132.
