It’s now time to start applying some of the masks starting with covering the green so the sand could be sprayed again light applications building up the colour. Once dry the masks were applied over the sand and the brown colour, Lifecolor UA088 Italian Mimetic Brown 2, which I sprayed a little heavily as when the masks came off I had a step in the paintwork. I used an abrasive tool to take it down which in turn showed some of the sand colour. I used the green paint applied with a brush to cover this. The wheels, side skirts, idler / drive wheels and the mg shield were painted with the hull.
I now broke out a number 2 paint brush and using the sand colour applied the small shapes onto the green and brown colours. For the sand colour I used the green to apply these shapes.
The track assembly is then brush painted with Vallejo track primer – do not try to cover in one coat as many different colours will be used from rust shades to black/brown wash in a future section of the build.
