The exhaust is given a coat of Tamiya Dark Iron. The prop shaft/differential has been rotated out of the way to make painting easier.
The rest of the chassis components are brushed with an application of ground pencil graphite as here with the leaf springs.
Rust coloured pastel chalk is dabbed-on to the exhaust and leaf springs.
Care must be taken when fitting the bonnet hinge to ensure there’s a gap. It’s easy to apply too much pressure and eliminate it.
The cargo deck area of the Armoured car is of a wooden construction. To create a more realistic interpretation of this area, I’ve scored the plastic with a rough sanding stick ad further distressed the planks with damage created with a knife.
The tool boxes are constructed but not fitted at this time.
The Vickers machine gun is a lovely piece of moulding, but it can be further enhanced by drilling an opening in the muzzle. A sharp pointed tool is first used to mark the correct location and in addition helps locate the twist drill point.
The completed turret assembly. A little tidying-up was required around the top plate to side fit being careful as not to remove the rivet heads.
