Aber’s NF 7.62mm gun barrel was designed for the AMX-30 so needs a little “chopping” to fit . I initially fitted the kit barrel to get an idea of the length needed removing from the replacement. I then simply cut the metal barrel with a pair of snips slightly longer than required to allow for secure placement within the kit part.
More etch, another jig! The DIVT 13A LLL TV camera needs a shroud fitting. The etch brass shroud is formed around the neat little former. It’s a little tricky as you can’t quite form it perfectly but just enough to get the job done.
To simulate the power cables from the searchlight to the turret I used some Verlinden products rubber hose which was secured, once again, with superglue.
The following photos illustrate the multi-media materiel used in the construction of this project, turned aluminium, turned brass, etch brass, rubber matt, copper braid and resin crew equipment from CMK.
