Five individual pieces of etched plate are provided for the various screens on the engine deck. They fit perfectly. Also fitted at this stage is the four small stanchions to support the Mine Wheels storage bracket.
Before the glue dries the Mine-roller storage rack is fitted “dry.” to ensure correct alignment of the stanchions. Now, as certain people who have read any of my previous build articles, know, that I am Inclined to make the odd build-blooper now and again. So, as not to disappoint, can you see this latest “howler”. Yup, I’ve managed to place and glue the rear Casemate Panel the wrong way round. Embarrassingly, it took me two days to notice this error by which time the glue had dried solid!
Using a brand new scalpel and plastic scribe and Dymo tape, the rear casemate plate is surgically removed and replaced the right way round.
Squadron green putty is used to fill and neaten the edges of the refitted rear panel.
Unfortunately, whilst trying to repair my Faux Pas, I broke off the rear two mine roller storage rack stanchions. Here I’ve simply attached them to the storage platform.
An improvement on their T-90A is to mould the fuel pipes from soft vinyl. This allows flexibility in the parts facilitating an easier fitment to the fuel drum attachment points. These were secured with cyanoacrylate glue.
This item (I think) is part of the NBC filtration system, it is rather a delicate part attached to the rear of the vehicle hull. This was left off and fitted at the very end of the build.
