Above the crane and winch have been constructed. A little filler and sanding was required on the winch body.
There are a number of ERA blocks to be fitted on the hull sides and fenders. When fitting, caution is the watchword here as not to mix up the parts.
Meng supply a lovely rendition of the vehicles 12.7 mm NSVT self defence machine gun.
This is the one of the sprues for the construction of the mine clearance equipment. One of the two flexible torsions that are installed on the mounting frames (to counter antennae-activated bottom-piercing mines) was found to be damaged.
The solution was to replace both torsion bars with Albion Alloys 0.4 Brass rod. The undamaged part was first measured.
The rod was then carefully bent using my Mission Models etch brass bending tool.
A quick comparison check with the original part to confirm correct construction.
A length of chain is supplied in the construction of the mine rollers. Very short lengths are required; the number of links needed are clearly specified in the instructions. Sprue cutters are the perfect tool for the cutting of the individual links.
