Clear parts are provided for all vision blocks. Here I’ve fitted the drivers vision block. Vallejo Transparent Blue is applied to the back of the block. I tend to paint them this way than painting the front as suggested.
This is the underside of the front glacis plate which requires the removal of the highlighted protrusions for a seamless fit.
The front fenders have an attachment pin to be fitted, represented by the rather delicate pieces lying in front of the fenders. You could replace these with copper wire. I’ve chosen to go with the kit supplied parts. On the left is the part before careful cleaning up with a craft knife.
The hull top and bottom have been fitted and glued. It was only after the glue had dried that I noticed the small gaps. (highlighted) These weren’t apparent on the dry fit so must be down to a lack of attention when fitting the top hull. There was not a lot I could do about it without doing a lot of damage. I filled the gaps with putty hoping that there were no fit issues later on in the build!
The headlights were a tricky assembly. Each light consists of a lamp assembly plus a front and rear guard to sandwich the lamp. The problem is minimum contact area to apply glue. To solve the problem the component was placed on a piece of Blu-Tack before applying liquid glue and then leaving for 24hrs to ensure a strong bond.
The track side skirts are commendably thin. In reality these are a flexible skirt.
