Feature Article by Bill Curtis
A note from Geoff…
Excited to welcome back Bill C with another of his superb armour builds and this time he’s gone up another level to my eye with his realistic finish. What follows is his story about how he takes a standard, straightforward Tamiya Panzer III Ausf L kit and turns it into a mini replica of the real thing – love it Bill and thanks for sharing with everyone through SMN!
Here are a couple of photos of Bill’s completed model
Over to you Bill…
The Panzer II was a mainstay of the Panzerwaffe up until 1944 when it was outgunned by the opponents on the battle field. The tank was up-gunned until the limited size of the turret ring made further improvements impossible.
This kit is a typical Tamiya offering with its ease of build and crisp detail. The one thing I wish Tamiya would do is to add grills where needed, although one can get these as aftermarket items.
