Short Feature Article by Graham Thompson
A note from Geoff…
It’s really exciting to be able to bring another of Graham’s excellent builds of an armour subject in 1:48 scale. This scale is proving very popular and the fact that we have another build to show you will please many I know.
Here is a photo of Graham’s completed Russian 1.5ton Cargo truck and I just love it – especially Graham’s subtle weathering that makes a nice change from all the complex, multi-layered finishes involving much use of pigments, fixers, washes and all the other stuff employed on some projects. Don’t get me wrong, the latter approach is just fine too – SMN contains some stunning examples of the art in Finished Now, it’s just that what Graham has created here is an excellent model, well finished in a short time frame that he and any modeller can be proud of.

Over to you Graham
There really is not a lot to say about the build of this superb offering from Tamiya. Their 1:48 kits are very high quality and build beautifully. No matter what your skill level, a bit of care cutting the parts from the sprues and cleaning up the attachment points and you will be rewarded with a superb model requiring no filler or sanding.
The most intricate thing you will have to deal with are the odd ejector pin marks but most are well hidden but a few are visible on the finished model and need to be hidden or dealt with.
