At this point I decided to leave the model as it was. However, I’m not sure I will leave it this way as I wasn’t entirely happy with the finished model. I don’t suppose there’s a rule that says there is a point when a model has to be considered to be finally and irrevocably finished and that you can’t return to something days, weeks or even months after you originally decided to stop working on it in order to change something. I think that I may return to this one in the future maybe to add some pigments or perhaps to tone down the drybrushing and chipping – or maybe I’ll finally work out how the Russian army painted the underside of their tanks in the 1960s – who knows?
I enjoyed making this kit. As ever, I altered a few things along the way, but that was just my personal preference and I think you could get a good looking model by building the kit straight out of the box. It’s easy to build, it’s pretty accurate (at least as far as I can see) and I think that it can be recommended to all fans of Russian armour.
