The second mounted in the hull was modified in the same way with a mounting hole being enlarged in the hull front plate.
At this point I looked at the main gun and decided to give this some thought as it looked like a rebuild was required and I was not sure how to proceed. Put to one side and while considering the way forward I started on detailing the hull.
As I had damaged the rivet detail on the hull front and rear this was replaced with items made from the foil from coffee and chocolate drinks seals made with a punch and die set. The front fenders were detailed with rivets on the inner top side and also on the inner sides. Two reinforcing strips were stuck on the front plate next to the inner fenders and rivet detail added. Next came the rivet detail to the rear fender inner sides again using the punch and die set.
On the RHS of the hull was positioned the large crowbar and the track tensioning spanner. These were detailed with clamps which were made of soft metal and once cleaned up were cut before affixing with superglue.
