Our thanks to IsraDecal Studio for the review book
Look out for the full In-Progress Review (IPR) by Geoff Coughlin, Editor – using the awesome IsraCast 1:32nd scale F-16I ‘Barak’ two-seat resin and etched conversion for the Tamiya F-16 C/J kit.
When you look around, Israeli scale modelling subjects are becoming very popular, whether that’s new kits like Kinetic’s F-16I “Sufa” or Hasegawa’s 1:48th scale release, modeller’s interested in these subjects are very well catered for. Add to that the superb IsraCast F-16I “Barak” (Lightning) resin conversion for the excellent Tamiya 1:32nd scale C/J kit, it all looks rather good!
Increasingly I don’t know if you think like this, but I like to identify one, really good modelling reference for the subject I’m modelling and tend to go for that? Everything you’ll ever need to know in one volume – sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Well, not any more. Titles like this are increasingly coming onto the market and finding their way onto our bookshelves and is it any wonder… this new text from the prolific IsraDecal Studio is all you’ll ever need to have by way of reference on the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D “Barak”, or “Lightning”.
The book features excellent coverage of the five main squadrons: The First; Knights of the North; The First Fighter; The Scorpion and The Valley Squadron. All feature striking unit insignia, making them attractive to scale modellers looking for an alternative decal option to the usual US units?
The final section of the book features no less than 14 pages of walk around! Just what’s needed to get the close-in reference we modellers crave? Cockpit, weapons and other stores are all covered in good detail.
Overall quality is faultless, with production to a very high standard and when you match that with quality content, you’ve got a winner.
Highly recommended GC
