And more….
Over 1500, no really 1500 unique internal and external colour photographs.
With sound and animation, along with the benefits of search, bookmark and print facilities – The Hurricane Explored is an essential reference source for all Hurricane scale modellers as well as aviation historians and enthusiasts everywhere.
Not only is there the huge photographic archive, there are pilot’s notes, controls and all manner of other details that’ll be of interest. View a sample of the images below:
Camouflage and markings
Furthermore, a camouflage and markings section is also included and this will have all the obvious benefits to us scale modellers.
Examine the Hurricane’s systems…
- Detailed sections covering the Browning .303 in gun and Hispano 20m cannon
- Extensive detailed gun sight Mk.II, G.42 and G.45 camera gun sections
- Radio sections explain the TR.9D, TR.1133B and I.F.F. systems
- Detailed Merlin III engine sections as fitted to Hurricane Mk.I aircraft
- Extensive Merlin XX engine manual sections including the DH propeller.
With several scale models of the Hawker Hurricane available, not least the new Pacific Coast Models release in 1:32nd scale, this new title is an essential purchase as far as I’m concerned.
What’s the verdict?
I think that by now you’ve probably guessed? Stunning, as I said at the start. This package is so professional, it hurts! Well planned and thought out for sure it covers so much of what we crave in scale modelling – good quality reference material. Some years ago when Verlinden produced their superb Lock-On books they were the benchmark, but here with the available technology you are getting close to 3,000 pages of reference material for under £20.00 – unbelievable? In much the same way Scale Modelling Now is seeking to give you so much more for your money by using the available technology, Flyingzone Publications had done the same, but with superb reference material. Good luck to them and we wish them huge success with a series of CD ROMs that deserves our full support!
Oh dear…look what else is available:
- The Lancaster Explored – Revell and Hasegawa models in 1:72 and Tamiya with their recently re-released 1:48 scale kit?
- The Spitfire Mk.V Explored – Tamiya 1:48 scale kit plus many more from other manufacturers?
- The Halifax Explored and coming soon…
- The Mosquito Fighter Explored – what an accompaniment to your 1:24th scale Airfix DH Mosquito FB.Mk.VI? Or the superb Tamiya and Revell kits in 1:48th scales? And Hasegawa in 1:72?
Now where’s that wallet!
