The cleaning rod tube was added with extra details applied as were the rest of the Tool brackets, hinges and fasteners. The tool handles were made from plastic sprue.
When this was covered in paint the details really show up as being worthwhile.
Painting stage
I have decided to paint this model in Revell’s Airbrush Enamel colour.
I’ve started by using Matt Dark Green. This colour sprays really well straight out the bottle. Make sure you shake well before use. I have left the centre of the anti aircraft screens as these are going to be rusted.
Next I mixed some black into this colour and sprayed all around the details and panels.
This was followed by a light coat of the original shade. This will just show the darker colour and aid the weathering stage later for bringing out details.
Then a lighter shade of the original colour was mixed up using some white and a touch of Africa Brown matt. I sprayed this on the centre of the panels to highlight these areas.
Now it was time to mix up some Africa Brown and white to make a light yellow colour and spray on the camouflage pattern.
