Some fine scratches were done at this stage with a knife blade, this revealed some of the red primer underneath.
Also added some more pigments to the screens for added contrast to the colours
Pigment powders were now used to represent small rusty areas. This done by mixing pigments with a small amount of thinners and painting into areas of wear and damage.
More pigments were diluted with thinners to a very weak mixture and was flowed around details on the tank. I varied the shades to give a realistic appearance. I also used a graphite pencil at this stage and rubbed it on areas of high wear.
This is really looking like a metal tank now and not a piece of plastic.
