MDC are bound to be known to many of you by reputation. They produce some stunning resin accessory sets and kits for scale modellers as well as carrying a great range of other products like glues, sanders, buffers, fillers – the list goes on!
So what’s here?
So what we have here is exactly what is says on the pack; a GP 1000 LB Tail 29 Mk.1 Bomb in 1:32nd scale. The main two-part body of the British/Allied Mk.1 bomb is made of resin and beautifully cast that will require only removal of the small locating pegs to make it ready to use. To this you’ll need to add the photo etch Tail 29 fins. These are very accurately etched and should present no problems attaching to the bomb itself.
You’ll need to bend the round strip of brass that encircles the rear of the fins and one of the photo-etch bending tools will be ideal for this. See your Techniques Bank for more info on these. Also talk to MDC as they have a great range of tools to help you.
The inclusion of etch brass for the fins is logical and will enhance your finished model considerably. The kit bombs will probably be perfectly acceptable to many but these high quality items in this range from MDC are highly recommended.
I am looking for a suitable project to use these on, so keep an eye out for that!
