This series of extremely valuable sets of different themed paints and weathering tones continues apace. This recent release from Lifecolor is bound to have huge appeal to the armour scale modellers amongst our ranks. But it won’t stop there, because it is hard to think of the limits for this type of weathering set. From the box image it looks like the target group are railway and diorama modellers, but I can think of many marine modellers, figure painters and others that are likely to welcome this release.
The 6 bottles of acrylic paint are matt finish and this is clearly sensible given their intended use. Specifically the colours included are:
UA 713 – Warm dark shade
UA 714 – Warm base color
UA 715 – Warm light shade
UA 716 – Warm light shade 2
UA 717 – Cold base colour
UA 718 – Cold light shade
These colours are designed to be hand and airbrushed and have good opacity and durability. Lifecolor thinner is recommended. The box back contains useful information on how to work with these good quality modelling paints, and that’s always useful. You can of course mix the tones to create an almost infinite number of variations on the original colour. We will be trying these out in some of our armour projects specifically over the next few weeks – so keep an eye out on the Build Now area for those.
Highly recommended
