This is another slick release from Lifecolor and adds to their already growing range of themed sets that feature authentic acrylic colours.
The 6 bottles of acrylic paint included are an authentic match for the Italian Royal Air forces special satin camouflage colours applied to their fighter aircraft types in several Theatres of operations. Specifically the colours included are:
UA 525 – Grigio Azzurro Chiaro 1
UA 526 – Nocciola 4
UA 527 – Verde Olivia scuro 2
UA 528 – Giallo Mimetico 16
UA 529 – Nocciola Chiaro 4 VAR
UA 530 – Verde scuro Mimetico 39
These colours are designed to be hand painted and airbrushed and have good opacity and durability. Lifecolor thinner is recommended. The box back contains useful information on how to work with these good quality modelling paints, and that’s always useful.
We have a rather nice Special Hobby-Fiat BR 20 Cicogna in 1.48 scale and will be looking forward to an opportunity to try these paints out, some may be applicable to this Italian bomber, but if not, it looks like a Set 2 is on the cards and I guess that’ll be for the bombers, either way we’ll give them a go and report back in due course – watch this space!
