You can never get enough of this type of material. As a scale modeller that primarily works with aircraft models I am always using it. The uses are endless: cockpit wiring looms, undercarriage brake lines, wheel well wiring and so on. Armour modellers I am sure are just the same. Many a time I’ve seen those wires down the front of the vehicle emerging from light fittings and other equipment. I’m sure maritime modellers use fine wire just as much, so there’s no shortage of useful applications.
Perhaps the greatest advantage this wire will have over ordinary fuse wire is the flexible nature of this wire. Much like lead in weight and feel it easily bends and moulds to whatever shape you like. It’s weight should help to locate it where it’s needed like the rear decking of cockpit tubs and the like. This flexibility will also be good for the changes in contour on straight and angled undercarriage legs.
Attachment is with cyano glue and on the samples I tested, it proved useful to give the glue plenty of time to set and even use an accelerator or ‘kicker’.
Definitely recommended
