Subject choice…
As they say, timing is everything! Well, it can be and here S & M Models has produced a great 1:48 sheet designed for the Folland Gnat. With the imminent release of the all-new Airfix Folland Gnat T.1 in this scale, this decal sheet is going to be an invaluable purchase as it offers many Gnat schemes and will extend those offered in the kit by a mile. In fact, this sheet will allow you to build just about any Gnat that flew with the RAF when in service.

Instructions…
These are all-colour copied onto two sides of a sheet of A4 paper. Information is clear and concise giving you all you need to locate the markings accurately. BS colour references are included where appropriate and that’s useful so that you can identify appropriate paints from your favourite manufacturers’ range. 
Quality…
Very impressive – with the decals being silkscreen printed there is almost no carrier film visible on each decal and any that is should vanish if you apply suitable decal softening solutions like Micro Set and Sol or your preferred brand and apply your decals to a gloss surface. Colour density is very good and all markings are in perfect register with what looks like accurate colouration.
Conclusion…
This is an excellent decal sheet and if you are going to buy the Airfix kit, buy this sheet too!
