Initial assessment…
With this kit you get one metal chassis frame, four sand coloured sprues, one clear sprue, seven rubber tyres and two screws, plus the decal sheet.
Accuracy…
As a quick look from out of the box I found this pretty good dimensionally.
Quality…
The mouldings look clean, with little or no parting marks, on this particular kit. There are some push-out marks on the kit which will need to be filled and cleaned up but not a difficult operation.
Instructions…
The instruction sheet is nicely laid out and easy to follow with clear step by step drawings. One nice feature is that the diagrams have a ‘picture’ look to them that helps you to really picture where everything goes and what it should look like when assembled – a nice touch.
Decals…
There are four decal options in the kit which are:
- Luftwaffe 8 (pz)/sc Karkov, Russia 1932
- 8th Gebirgsjager Division, Bologna, Italy February/April 1945
- 21st Panzer Division, North Africa 1942
- 19th Panzer Division, Kursk Russia 1943
The decals do look nice and I will find out how nice when I use them on the vehicle. The back of the box has colour drawings of three vehicles with a colour code for the paints
Conclusions…
Initial thoughts are for a nice kit with good instructions and decals. I am looking forward to building it and the only problem is deciding which paint scheme to use. As this was a main stay of all branches of the German war effort I’m sure it will be popular with both armour and aircraft modeller.
Highly recommended
