Review by: Bill Curtis (December 2011)
Our thanks to The Airbrush Company Ltd for supplying our review sample.
Initial Assessment
This is a set that I for one have been waiting for as it contains three colours, a reflective agent and two wood colours.
The metal colours come in blue, red and grey, which is mixed with the reflective agent to the instructions on the rear of the box. For small arms with wooden parts, two colours are supplied which can be used together to give a gain effect.
More on this later as I will be using this on a current project.
Accuracy
This is only an out of the box review, but the colours look to be very useful and should give good results on the small arms. I also think they can be used for bare metal barrels on the AFV’s, which is another thing to try.
Quality
As this is another set from Lifecolor I am sure the quality will be as good as previous sets.
Instructions
The instructions are on the back of the box and suggest one mixes the selected metal colour with a small amount of reflecting agent and either brush paint the metal parts of the weapon, or use and airbrush.
Once dry use a stiff brush to buff the colour to the required sheen.
Conclusion
As stated, I have been waiting for a paint set that would cover small arms painting and I hope to experiment on larger barrels that have no camouflage paint.
I will be using these paints on the WWII Leopard build so keep a look out and see how it goes.
