Our thanks to Anthony Reeves at Treemendus for supplying our review sample.
You may well have already seen some of the other reviews elsewhere in this section of SMN of some of the excellent Treemendus products. Well, this is another item from the growing and impressive collection of model trees and groundwork materials from this manufacturer.
Increasingly I like to display my models on a realistic-looking base and, from what I’ve seen at various shows all over the country, it seems many of you do too. It makes such a difference to display models in this way, as a decent base values the time and effort that you’ve put into your project and I reckon it deserves displaying to its best advantage.
Desert sand material
It’s funny but I met Anthony at the recent excellent Huddersfield Model Show (if you haven’t been to that – go! You won’t be disappointed).
I am in the throes of completing my Revell Antonov An-2 project and have this idea of displaying the model in an African desert strip setting, looking a bit the worse for wear and needed some suitable material. Enter Treemendus…
This material looks just right in terms of my imagination and memory. The small rocks that are also included will be just right – along the edge of the cleared runway; I can’t wait to get started with this for that base.
My model is only 1:72 scale yet is still a reasonable size and I just can’t think of how I would have been able to display it without something like this great stuff!
I will also be using the Treemendus Raw Grass as that will compliment the base extremely well.
Conclusion
Highly recommended.
The best thing I can suggest is go to the Treemendus website, there is all manner of help and advice as well as the opportunity to buy these products.
