In-Box review by Geoff Coughlin (October 2017)
Just to put you in the picture…
This HN review comes to SMN a long time after this kit was released back in 2001. So what’s prompted an entry now? Well, after buying the kit and a bunch of accessories over the years this project has languished in my stash for all this time and now it’s about time I built the thing! So that’s the plan and keep an eye on Aircraft-Build Now and What’s New for the first updates over the next month or so and follow the whole build to conclusion there. When it’s finished the whole thing moves to Aircraft-Finished Now-Trumpeter pages as usual.
Back to what’s in the box…
This was one of Trumpeter’s best models in my view and one of the earliest. Oddly, you don’t see that many made up at model shows, I’ve only ever seen a handful over the years and I go to plenty of events and all I can think of is that the model may put some off because of its size? Who knows, all I know is that I love the A-10 and the thought of building one of these awesome ‘super kits’ in 1:32 scale is irresistible!
The box is jammed with a multi-media experience to satisfy all but the tiny few who will always find reason to criticise.
I’ve taken multiple photos of all the contents and so you can see what’s in here as well as I can so I will just make observations as appropriate. Here goes…
Main components – very well moulded featuring precise recessed panel lines and those awesome and very obvious dome-shaped rivets all around the rear airframe. Basic airframe shape looks accurate enough for me.
