The wheels look fine in terms of shape and size.
Moving to the clear parts, they are well moulded with no defects and are crystal clear☺.
Decals and instructions
- Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa, No. 19 Squadron, Royal Air Force, Fowlmere, England, June 1941
- Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa, No. 65 Squadron, Royal Air Force, Kirton-in-Lindsey, England, July 1941.
The decal sheet is comprehensive; all printing is in register and the colour and saturation looks good too. Along with the major markings all stencilling is included.
The instructions are typical Revell; they are in the form of a black and white unstapled booklet that is clear and logical. As ever, you may want to depart from the suggested plan using your experience. Paint references are the usual Revell color paints and mixes.
In Summary
Despite the slightly heavy rivet detailing on the fuselage, this is a very welcome new-tool model from Revell. A new Spitfire Mk.IIa in 1:32 has been needed for a long time and this kit, especially at that incredibly reasonable price fits the bill very well. What we need now is a NEW Hawker Hurricane in 1:32!
Overall a nice kit that does build into an impressive model and is well within the capabilities of most modellers.
