Initial look
I’m not sure if this kit is actually a new tool, but it is marked as ‘New’ by the manufacturer. The reason I say this is that the parts have quite a lot of excess flash plastic and very chunky sprue trees. Either way, the subject is interesting and could certainly add some interesting possibilities to any WWII period display base or diorama.
The fact that the model is 1.32 scale brings the item within the interest of 1:32 aircraft modellers as well as 1:35 armour scale modellers.
We have already reviewed a number of other buildings (mostly resin moulds with PE) from the Airfix range so do check them out in the Airfix area of Armour Kits area of Here Now.
Plastic moulding
The mouldings are fine and the model is simple to construct so shouldn’t present any problems at all to any modellers. You could use this as a base for adding much more in the way of additional material like grass, groundwork and so on – the list is endless!
Instructions
A colour painting guide is provided on the back of the instruction sheet with Humbrol colour references given as well as colour names so you should be able to work out what colour you’ll need if using paint from ranges other than Humbrol. This is a simple model and the parts count low and so shouldn’t prove difficult to construct using the assembly sequence given.
To conclude
This just seems like a useful addition to the Airfix range and is one of several kits featuring buildings, personnel and AFVs. You could construct a model such as this from scratch, but it may save you a lot of time by using this kit as you base.
