Full build on the way very soon!
From the moment this model was announced I had to buy one and we are so pleased to be amongst the first to receive a kit, so thanks very much Lukasz for your support here.
I’ll be starting the full build of this kit very soon, just as soon as I have finished the Italeri Fokker F-27 that’s on the bench and that’s in the paint shop as we speak, so not long now – keep a close eye on Aircraft-Build Now for that!
Take a browse inside the box with me now…
Well, what do you think?
Personally I love it – this is a high quality package and all areas of the model look to have been carefully thought out, from the excellent packaging to protect all the parts, through to the innovative use of 3-D printing for example, the seats and very delicate wheel in the cockpit and so on.
Sensible and logical use of photo-etch (PE) is supplied for the rigging bracing wires and also the stitching on the fuselage underside that will help cover up join lines down there and add finesse to the project.
I can’t wait to get into the build and that is surely what a new kit release should make you feel?
I have great memories of visiting IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire, England with my daughter and two Dragon Rapides giving joy rides – well, you’ve just got to, haven’t you!
See you soon…

That, all be a great build Geoff. My first ever flight was in one with my father and sister off Southport beach…..I guess it sowed the seeds

Mine’s on order, looks as good as I hoped it would be, just superb. Lots of similarities with Silver Wings kits even down to the format of the instruction sheets. I’ll be following your build closely Geoff! Mine will be finished as a Dominie of the Wireless School at Yatesbury circa 1943.

Looking forward to this Geoff.

That looks fantastic Geoff, I think you’re going love it. I’ve got my eyes on the Wapiti…

Thanks guys! This one was a no-brainer when I saw it advertised and has extra meaning as I went for a flight in one with my daughter at Duxford – wonderful experience!
I think that I might finish it in a personal civil scheme? Probably something like the dark blue one in the photo at the head of the review as that’s the one Em and I flew in (I think?). G

Hi Geoff, great little review, what a fabulous looking aircraft, and had to put one on order.A minor point about the a/c,I think the civvy version had one more window than the military versions that are depicted in the kit.
All the best and stay safe………Dave.
Geoff Coughlin says
Hi David,
Thanks for the heads up on the window detail – I’ll check that on some pics and see what I can do :) Really appreciate the intel.
Thanks again, Geoff

Great kit. Eager to see Geoff’s build. My kit is ordered too. My preferred livery is either Hillman’s Airways ( Stapleford Abbots) or Isle of Man Air Services (Ronaldsway). Lukas said the additional window glazing and frame was anticipated and has been provided. I hope so, if not in Geoff’s sample then in the next batch.

Excellent Christopher – I’ll be having a proper look this week when I properly get into the build 😉👍 thanks for your info – V helpful.
