Our thanks to The Airbrush Company Ltd for supplying the review samples
These new Tensocrom active surface agents are a solution of pigments dissolved in a special medium that allows you to apply different glazes over the base colour of your model in order to shade it, dirty it, basically make it look old. Also to enhance the details or make the surface look uneven. It can be applied over any type of colour and looks simple to use. Anyone that has used the growing number of washes being produced for scale modelling should also find this medium pretty east to use?
It can be applied both with an airbrush and paint brush and full details of the method recommended for each is included on the back of the box. When spraying the mix can be thinned further but this will be about your preferred style of weathering and the result you are looking for? Low pressure is recommended.
Brushes can be cleaned with water after use.
You get 12 different weathering tones in this box set and looking at the range included it seems unlikely that you’ll need any other variations. Of course you can always mix those included to get darker and lighter shades using the TSC 212 White and TSC 208 Smoke?
We’ve given this set to Les Piper for use in one of his forthcoming armour projects, so keep an eye out for how we get on with these good looking weathering washes.
