Modelling
What first attracted you to Scale Modelling?
I’ve always had an interest in aviation, leading to working in that field. Models were a way of understanding aircraft more.
How long have you been scale modelling for?
I first started in my teens, since then the hobby has always subsided for more adventurous pursuits. That is until some of those pursuits resulted in forced recovery periods. Each time I would enjoy my modelling for a few years, until slowly subsiding again.
Specialist area of Modelling?
Though I started as an aviation modeller my interests have now become AFV oriented. Though I do occasionally find an aviation subject which piques my interest. Like a lot of more mature modellers, retro models do hold a lot of appeal as well.
Preferred Scale?
1:35, though I will wander from 1:16 to 1:48.
What is your favourite real subject of all time (aircraft, armour or maritime)?
Panzer IIIs
The best thing you’ve ever built?
An ancient Revell 1:32 Mosquito, I won a few prizes for it and it was passed onto a pilot.
And finally: Most memorable Modelling disaster?
The first time I realised that lacquer paints and acrylic thinners don’t mix!
