A note from Geoff C…
You can see in the above image how your model will look when this simple and highly effective technique is completed. I’m extremely grateful to Danny for agreeing to share his great idea – so simple, yet so effective.
Even though Danny is using this approach on an armour subject it will of course be perfect for any vehicle model.
The photos really show you each simple step and what follows are a few of the author’s words to guide you through the pics.
I wanted to have the window down!
So the easy way would be to just cut the kit window in half! But they are too thick and out of scale, so using the kit part I made a template by sticking it to some tape and drawing around the edge!
I then used some clear packaging plastic which is 0.3mm and taking the template, stuck it to the clean plastic.
Using some sharp scissors, I cut around the template to get the window shape then it was just a matter of trimming the bottom edge.
And that’s it really – looks much better than the alternative approach would have done.
Good luck…
Danny C.
