Creating a River Bed Diorama in 4 parts with 4 Video Demonstrations
We share our creative approach on how Redflare Models creates custom 1:12 resin bases for Bandai and Hot-toys figures. In this video, we show you how we make a new riverbed scene and share our tips and ideas for the materials used in its construction, before we go on to mould and cast in resin.
We walk you though the process of adding definition and detail from the blank board, to construct the base using some basic household items, and you can learn more about how a modeller would create a diorama for their Star Wars kit.
Video Demo 1
In this next video, we show you how we construct the mould and de-gas the silicone resin for our new riverbed scene.
We walk you though the process of how we construct and prepare the master part for the mould making process, as well as ensuring we have sealed the master before preparing the silicone mix. We will show you how a silicone pump helps de-gas any bubbles from the silicone before pouring over the parts.
Video Demo 2
We walk you through the process of painting the riverbank using the following items and you can learn more about how a modeller would create a diorama for their Star Wars kit.
You can also apply these techniques to many other areas of modelling like armour and vehicles…
Video Demo 3
Learn the process of applying the resin to the riverbank by using the following items and you can learn more about how a modeller would create a diorama for their Star Wars kit.
