Modelling
What first attracted you to Scale Modelling?
When I was thirteen years old I had a slightly older neighbor with whom I would play the board game named, “Battle of the Bulge”. One afternoon I went over his house to play the board game and on his shelf was a completed Tiger 1. I knew that day that I had to build a model. So the next morning I had my father drive me to the local hobby shop. Upon viewing the shelves stocked with all types of different models; a new world was opened up to me and I was instantly hooked.
How long have you been scale modelling for?
As previously stated I built my first model when I was thirteen. Not having the financial means to finish the models the way I wanted, I grew frustrated and stopped building. In 2001 I moved within a short distance of a hobby shop. Bored one afternoon, I walked in and it was like I was thirteen again and I have been building ever since.
Specialist area of Modelling?
I only build AFV’s, specializing in World War 2 armor. But I occasionally build a modern era tank. I will also paint a figure or bust in between builds.
Preferred Scale?
My preferred scale is 1:35
What is your favourite real subject of all time (aircraft, armour or maritime)?
Although I am a licensed maritime captain, my favorite subject is armor. Specifically the M4 Sherman, Panther and T34.
The best thing you’ve ever built?
I have yet to build it!
And finally: Most memorable Modelling disaster?
After spending several months super detailing an M32b1 recovery vehicle, I dropped it transferring it over to my photo area.
