The front seats come in three parts, the front and seat base, the seat back, which has the head restraints moulded as part of them, and the seat frame. The seat backs were fitted, but there was a faint gap left between the two parts, which wouldn’t be there on the real vehicle. Some two-part polyester putty was mixed up and applied to the gap, and sanded smooth once dry – it just makes the seat more realistic and worth taking the extra time it took to make them look a lot better.
A light coat of primer followed by a coat of Revell satin brown, #381. As the seats need to be airbrushed in a lighter contrasting colour, the sides of the seats were masked then airbrushed using a lighter brown enamel.
Once everything had dried the complete seat was masked up so the head restraint could be airbrushed in satin black. The seat frame was airbrushed in satin black at the same time and then fixed to the base of the seat with a few drops of 5-minute epoxy.
The rear seat comes in two parts, the seat bench and a frame that fits to the front edge of the seat which then fits into locating holes moulded into the floor. The frame was painted in satin black and the seat itself was painted to match the front seats.
