Summary
Well, I must say that regardless of the paint problems, I really enjoyed the build overall. The kit engineering is remarkable, with fantastic fit of all parts. The instructions do require careful study, and I would recommend pre-reading and use of highlighters etc. There is an awful lot of information in a small area, and on some sections it is easy to miss things (especially as the sequence with painting may be extended over a considerable time).
The sense of achievement as each key sub-assembly is completed is great, as each one is like a model in its own right. The problem is all that detail can be hidden, so plan what you want exposed. I originally was going to leave one of the fairing side panels off, but decided to fit it in the end (although I did not fix it with the screws supplied to make it easier to remove if I change my mind in the future).
In the end the paint issues (that were very visible to me originally) do not show up under most lighting conditions, and I am still happy with the finished model. I will definitely be doing more motorcycles in the future, but may approach the gloss / clear coat differently (we will see).
The finished gallery includes a series of photos showing from the completed Chassis, through a series of partly panelled so fully finished shots.
I hope you like the result.
Thanks again for reading

Hello,Tim – A fantastic build of this Suzuki motorbike.
I love the detail work and your skilled finishing has brought out the best of it.
I appreciate your feedback regarding the Tamiya Lacquer Paints too.and certainly consider giving them a go myself.
Following your build with great interest.
As Always,

Thanks for your kind words Paul. Those Tamiya lacquer paints are so easy to use. Just make sure you put down enough coats, they can be a bit translucent otherwise 🙄

Hello again,Tim – A few trials and tribulations for you with this build but how fantastic the end results are.
I know motorbike kits are a challenge.I liken them to needing almost watchmaker’s precision and care.
Full compliments on a stunning Suzuki Speed Machine scale replica!🏆👏😉👍
